KYC360 AML Talk Show Hosted by Martin Woods and Stephen Platt. In this series of monthly podcasts, the host will interview key figures in the world of financial crime prevention and examine successes and failures in the global fight against money laundering and related crimes including drug trafficking, bribery and corruption, sanctions evasion, human trafficking and tax evasion.

Episode 07: Tom Mueller

Tom Mueller is a graduate of both Oxford and Harvard, a former associate at Goldman Sachs, and author of the book, Crisis of Conscience: whistleblowing in an age of fraud – described by George Soros as an authorative and timely revelation of what drives a few brave souls to expose and denounce specific cases of corruption. In this wide ranging conversation with Martin Woods, Tom discusses the False Claims Act, personal accountability and, of course, whistleblowing.

Episode 08: Ian Mynot

Ian Mynot is Head of the UK’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in the National Crime Agency, which receives, analyses and disseminates suspicious activity reports submitted under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Terrorism Act 2000. Nearly half a million reports are managed by the UKFIU each year, and the Unit is undergoing significant change. Prior to that he undertook a number of roles in the NCA, including overseeing the Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce and developing law enforcement proposals for legislation. He started his career at HM Treasury, where he was responsible for domestic anti-money laundering policy.

Episode 09: Tom Keatinge

Tom Keatinge is Director of the Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies at RUSI. Tom’s research focuses on matters at the intersection of finance and security, including the use of finance as a tool of intelligence and disruption. His research on finance and security considers a number of themes including terrorist financing, human trafficking and modern slavery, new approaches to tackling financial crime and corruption. He also co-leads RUSI’s work on counter-proliferation finance, the design and implementation of financial sanctions and the role of finance and financial investigation in disrupting wildlife crime and the illicit trade in wildlife products.
